Branding for a new Non-Profit.
The charity All for Africa was created by philanthropist and businessman, Bruce Wrobel alongside Herakles Farms, with an innovative and ambitious plan to turn large swaths of land into palm oil tree plantations that would benefit those in need in Africa.
I was introduced to AFA by a friend who worked there and was asked by Bruce to brand the organization’s inaugural fundraising event, which featured African musicians and a live boxing match. creating the iconic African Fist logo and the slogans, “Let’s Knockout Poverty”, and “Everybody Loves a Good Fight.”
The event, a 1,200 person, celebrity-filled affair, included the presidents of Liberia and Sierra Leone. The evening launched the Knock-Out Poverty Campaign, which aimed to plant 1 million palm trees over 17,000 acres of land in various African countries. President Bill Clinton, actor Jeffrey Wright, musicians Youssoou N’Dour, Angelique Kidjo, John Legend, and Questlove all lent their support to the efforts.
“The African Fist logo remains not only the most vivid image of our inaugural event but is one that we believe will transcend as an icon for the future of Africa for many years to come.” – Bruce Wrobel, Chairman, All for Africa
The African Fist logo was nominated for a National Design Award.
